The 1828 3-span stone arch was in need of a very complex rehabilitation.  This project involved utilization of simple details & methods that made the work much less expensive than originally anticipated.  The end product is a beautifully restored 177-year old structure.

This is a single span, steel girder replacement bridge with unique, inexpensive aesthetic enhancements that reflect the flavor of the community and helped to make the project a success.

The graceful appearance and constructability of the decorative rail along with the overall shortening of this 1031' long viaduct caught the eyes of our judges to select it for this award.

Continuing Education Requirements for PE Renewal

The recently passed ORC 4733.151 states that “Each registrant for renewal for calendar year 2008 and thereafter shall have completed, within the preceding calendar year, at least 15 hours of continuing professional development for professional engineers and surveyors.”  ABCD’s interpretation of this legislation is that technical meetings will count as one hour of continuing professional development (CPD).  In an effort to help Professional Engineers track their CPD hours, ABCD will be providing sign-in sheets at each meeting.  You can print the sign-in sheets from ABCD’s website along with the meeting announcement.  It is our understanding a copy of the meeting announcement and sign-in sheet will suffice as record of attendance if a licensee is audited.  The sheet for the February meeting can be found here and the sheet for the March meeting is located here.  For more information on this legislation, click here.
